first, and most importantly, dont spam advertisment all over numa. if you want to get noticed, make a name for yourself using good maps and constructive comments. it takes a while to get into the community, but people will get to know you over time.
secondly, on the subject of maps, there are three things you need to do if youre going to be a good mapper.
object placement, tiles and aesthetics - place every object with care, and make sure your level looks good before submitting. put a lot of work into your tiles, theyre what makes up the majority of most maps.
playtest, playtest, playtest! - you cant make a good map without trying it out, a lot. if your map isnt finished yet, tag it "incomplete" and ask people what they think you should work on more.
dont be generic - be original in your mapping, but dont break any of the map making rules - dont spam or cluster objects, dont submit just any old map, and a lot of other ones (google for them)
