i don't think

that you're in a rut. this was just fine. i think it would be best if you retained your ability to make this kind of map, while still being able to branch off, as you have, with abstract stuff. i like them both ;). keep it up.

i can't, and wont, criticize, but my personal opinion, drawn from your last 10 or so maps, is that you're in a rut. try something radically different. for inspiration, check out frogs' races. now that's different.
