Oh, by the way,
this map lacked the humor of your previous harryandthepotter n-arts, but it's nice in it's own right.

@Ryzor:
It's not as if there's a "right" or a "wrong" rating. Ratings are opinions. If a map had a definite quality level, they would come with the rating already fixed. For example, video game reviewers often disagree on what game are good, and what games are bad. People even disagree on whether or not N is a good game. Without an opinion, there wouldn't be a rating, and no rating is completely objective.
Sure, the rating for this map may be higher than other similar maps, but that doesn't mean it's rating abuse.

i like
his stance. the gold provides a nice variation in colour. the lower left is nice, especially the letters. the whole thing has a vibrance to it...i like it.

I don't want to know what you're whining about, but this is good n-art. And when you call his map messy... I've seen messier n-arts from your side.
Anyhow, Espada pwnz, so does harry and his potter.

That in itself is rating abuse
if we assume that ratings are assigned based on the communal pool of maps and not simply one mapmaker's maps. Sure, if we're rating on an 'espada scale' then this is something like a 4.5. However, when you vote based on n-art in general, not just ESPADA's n-art, the rating decreases. This is the way voting should be.

-_-
I don't know what to say... So I'll just say this:
Being as it is, you're right; the rating system is abused. I've seen the several discussions about the subject and even proposed a solution, albeit flawed.
I suppose the expression 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder' applies to espada's unique collection of art. Your comment on 'quality' also is subject to the saying. I think it's wonderful to see espada's development from simple outlined doodles through simple color use to complex shaded drawings and detailing like in this one. The subject of a few of his drawings can be a little bold at times (^^) but I respect the effort put in to each one. Therefore this 'quality' is better as opposed to earlier doodles (of course, this is imo, but it seems obvious to me).
Now if you're wondering why I played along and wrote my little rant, it's to explain why I feel this deserves a 5, or 4.5 at least. I appreciate you're position on the matter of rating, and I feel the same way at times (Which is why I'm glad that instant bitesizing is over, but still kind of wary towards the newer 'featured' system... But who am I but a lowly user), but I honestly doubt we can do much about it.
I didn't think this would be as drawn out as it is, but nonetheless it has been and is. Hopefully no offense is taking by my response, but I felt I needed to explain myself better then 'Don't h8' and not sound like a 10y/o.
I agree and disagree...
I'll shut up now.
Peace.

You should have remained silent.
It's good...in your opinion. I didn't rate it.
Lets get this out of the way first: I feel that compared to other N-arts out there, this doesn't quite stack up. It's messy, simply and dry. Call me what you will for it, I care not.
When I said 'reality check' I meant it. I know that the rating system can be superficial, but it can be and is frequently abused. Ratings should be given based on the quality of a map, rather than simple opinion. I do realize that sometimes it does come down to only opinion, but in other instances, there is a clear quality curve (case in point: n-art). There are no quality filters anymore. People no longer rate objectively.
I suppose you want a reason I posted these comments, so I'll give you one. I did it to try to wake up the denizens of numa who rate indiscriminately. What's the ultimate goal? Perhaps for the rating system to be used the way it is supposed to be. I feel strongly about this issue. People always say, 'ratings don't matter,' or 'it's all about reputation'. Unfortunately, that is true today. I dont understand why our rating system can't be applied like rating systems employed by they hotel and restaurant industries. Those systems work fine. Of course, you get your oddballs who eat at a five star restaurant and hate it because of their personalized tastes, but they tend to be somewhat of an anomaly. There is always a noticable difference in quality, but we here on NUMA tend to ignore it more often than not solely for their own opinions. Through objective rating, the system could go from outmoded and fallible to a solid standard for the quality of a map.
Agree or disagree, that's all I'll say. I'm finished pontificating.

It's not an opinion
it's fact.
This isnt even funny. I've given some of his FUNNY maps good ratings, but this is just a sub-par sketch.

That's just, like, your opinion man.
Don't h8.

Espada's hilarious :P
5/5 again, if I could.

The rating on this is seriously moronic.
If I acted like a complete tool for half a year then made some decent sketch N-arts in rapid-fire succession, would I get 5/5 with 10 votes too?
I shall say no more, just sort of a reality check.

WOOO!!!
ESPADA!!!! I had a forensic insight to the relation between you and a boiled egg. I foresaw that four flying chickens only roost in a sightly fashion upon seven wooded plants. This lead to a realization that you and a jar of planters are both nuts!
Glad you're pseudo-back.
