| Description | Well, after all the years I have been on here, I have never seen a fall of a genre as this. Many of you may not see it, but I feel as if it is dying. I really hope that this will not happen, but I do not know how we can stop it.
This is my last map for a while. I will be on here and there to check out people's maps and so on. But I will not make any more right now. Unless im asked to by someone or collabing. I dedicate this map to destiny, yungerkid, Riobe, magirocker and da_man894. You guys are the good race map makers right now, please keep this genre alive! Hope the rest of you guys like it! |

wait, destiny,
i was around when you were a noob. your first listed map was posted on 7/30, and my first map was on 4/10. erm, anyway...i disagree with you about the race genre. i think the genre has major limitations. there are only so many innovations to make in races, and if you don't keep innovating, you lose originality and therefore skill. so i think the genre is destined to end. so is the action genre; so is the puzzle genre, so is the dda genre. but the race (and dda) genres will die first, because they have more limitations. i don't think it's about specifically *who* makes races or ddas.

But yeah - i don't honestly think the race scene is as bad as a few people are making out right now. So there are only 5 or 6 people that make decent races at the moment. It's always been that way. In fact, i would say there is normally less. I think perhaps this whole 'race is dying' talk comes from some of the greats leaving. Or perhaps, so many of the greats leaving. In_dub, mari, formica, frogs, pshyco, now bunnies... Perhaps it is just not having any of their maps around that is causing this. I don't know, but i'm solid on my opinion that race is O-K for now.
