"The launch pads in this map are used to move the ninja out of danger at the last possible moment, and to push him into a safe area. A launch pad only needs to be placed exactly where the ninja is going to be, and it means that timing is not an issue, as with some other propulsions. The following numbers represent the special attributes of whatever object it is. For a launch pad, there are two. The first (the 0) represents the x-component of the speed setting (how fast the ninja will move horizontally once he hits the pad). A negative value represents left, while a positive value represents right. Because the code in question has a value of 0 there, you know it will be a vertical launch pad. The second number (big surprise) represents the y-component of speed. A negative value represents up, while a positive represents down. So, we're looking at the code for a standard, upward-facing launch pad.
By changing the last two numbers, one can change the speed the launch pad will set the ninja to, in either direction. If the speed set is great enough, it is possible to ‘teleport’ the ninja through objects, enemies or tiles. However, after this, there is generally something needed to slow down the ninja, otherwise he will die from high-speed collision or go flying out of the border and never return.
