I agree with MattyMc13 on this one. WAY too many mines. One per square will suffice. Also, on the left, instead of two per tile, one would have been fine.
But for a first this is great.

sorry I didn't rate I just wanted to comment

I'm not the oldest member in NUMA, but I think I have some tips. There's some good placement of gold, but there could've been some more gold and I LOT less mines. Even though I use a lot myself, it's good to limit them to a point where you know the player can't get between the mines. Also, I think that there should have been more flow, especially at the bottom part, where it looks like an action map than a race.
Sorry I didnt rate but it does look like a good map, and for a first as well.
