im sorry if this sounds rude
but Im trying to make you better =)
You said that you /actually/ spent some time on this one. does that mean you haven't before? ALL of your maps you make should have a lot of time put into it. You want to make maps the best they can be. Do not say it is finished when it is not. Do not post it until you cannot find ways to improve it anymore.
With that being said, here are some signs that mean race maps are finished:
1) Flow is perfect. Absolutely perfect. If some parts are rough, then the map is not finished yet. Flow needs to be the number one concern for race maps.
2) After flow is perfect, then make the aesthetics look nice. Make the tiles look like the map would be very fun to play. However watch out for flow though, f aesthetics cut into flow, then leave it and try a different approach. The map should play exactly the same after adding aesthetics as with the perfect flow from step one.
3) Add mines to make the movements more obvious. If there might be discrepancies on the direction, add mines to make it clear where to go. Then add mines to make the level look nicer: too much will not achieve this.
4) Add gold that matches the tile set. Only add gold in about 4-6 clumps scattered evenly through the race. Don't have more than about 24 pieces through the whole level.
5) Here and only here is when you add enemies. Good enemies can be determined if they offer a lot of close calls. The ninja has a lot of close calls with enemies. However do not overdo it though... Also it helps to place the enemies last when you make races, as their firing rate and/or speed can change when gold, mines, or tiles are changed...
really hoped this helped =)

I
was rather confused as to where the flow went. It looked like it was going somewhere, but then it changed direction, and I ended up somehow missing the exit key. :/ The tiles were pretty flow-y, but somewhere amongst all of that cheat-proofing, the flow went down the toilet. The start was great, if a little bit frustrating because those mines were there. I guess my only advice for this is to keep the playability of a map in mind when cheat-proofing it. And anyway, it's not the whole world just to make a map uncheatable. Cheating a map is just very innovative, that's all. I guess.

if you mean the thumbnail
then that always happens - it can take anywhere form 5 minutes to 30 minutes to refresh, depending on how many comments/ratings it has + how many people are posting comments/rating. I have an n-art called Mamoswine tht is still re-freshing, then de-freshing all the time. dont worry about it.
