It's worth noting that a lot of us are on irc and post newly submitted maps of ours to the mapping or highscore channels. That's how you can see multiple responses so quickly, especially if the first one or two raters had actually playtested the map before it was even submitted to numa.

Bear in mind that there's a general rule of thumb for websites like this:

For every contributor, there are 9-10 lurkers.

We have how many faces around here these days, like 30? Based on that guideline above, it's a safe bet that there are 200-300 people who either never comment or don't have an account. I'd suggest that every map submitted to this site has at least 10 people who play it.

Don't worry about a map being ignored until it falls completely off the hot maps page. Even then, there are people (like me) who sometimes check the second page.

While I'm never going to say it's a good thing that numa is less active than three years ago, it does mean that maps stay on the hot maps page longer. There are fewer people playing but also fewer people submitting. Basically, everything happens more slowly. Just be patient. :)
