| Description | Now we come to a map that should have made it in, but fell victim to something rather silly - taste. Despite all of the rules and regulations and playtesting and tweaking and map theory and aesthetics discussion, some maps just weren't liked by us. Some maps, we went into and just said "meh" from the get-go. And that's sad to say about maps like this, because for the most part, How Many Moons is an objectively great episodic map, but whether we just liked another map better or we just felt like any changes that would or could be made would either irreparably hurt the point of the map, or otherwise diminish the aesthetics.
And that was one of our most important lessons that we had to learn along the way through the process - sometimes a map is a good map, but just not meant for Legacy. And that was an okay place for some of these maps to be. But what I really lament is that some of these maps never saw the light of day, and some really, really great maps from some really great mappers never made it out of the Legacy packs, and thus, this project. |
