They F*cked the emeralds up wayyy too much.......they changed colors, cut, and even the amount! (Sonic the Hedgehog had 6, sonic the fighters had 8!)

Its most likely hyper. Look at the cut style of the emeralds. In the original genesis sonics, the chaos emeralds had an octogon cut, rather than a brilliant cut. So the emeralds he uses are truly the super emeralds.... And your description is of Hyper sonic. Isnt it possible sonic can control his form, so he changes to super rather than hyper. The Whole "Hyper" form was cut. but the Hyper emeralds stayed as the new "Chaos Emeralds" So since we haven't seen shadows form using the original Chaos Emeralds, we can assume he is in Hyper mode since he uses what are really the Super Emeralds. If you have no idea what i'm talking about, play Sonic 3 and Knuckles. The evidence that he is in Hyper mode is more than the evidence for Super, although really, we have no idea what form he is in.

So in reality, we are both wrong.....

And since Shadow was created, he may have completly different forms.

Contrary to popular belief, it's Super Shadow. Just because he's silver instead of gold, doesn't make him Hyper. If he were Hyper Shadow, he'd be changing colors, have stars around him, go so fast, there are past images of himself behind him, and when you do a homing attack, it destroys all enemies on screen.
