You need to put more thought into your maps' layout, and avoid clustering.

Well,

Mosh is right, but don't be discouraged. You're probably just getting the hang of this mapmaking stuff. Heck I remember what my old maps used to look like. Mosh chewed me out then, too! Just don't cluster (adding unnecessary enemies) for example, you only needed about half of those thwumps, maybe less. And one rocket instead of four.

Learning how to make a good tileset is what seperates the men from the boys though, so get to work on that.
