Isn't modern art N-tastic? This is a flow-based, fast-paced race map with only 4 enemies (1 Thwump and 3 mines).
It took days to create this one, and here it is, finally. Race maps are my weak point, but this one turned out surprisingly good.

Feedback, suggestions, ratings and comments appreciated.

I love this one. I also like the speedy loopy race ones where you jump in circles. Took a while to get used to the thwump part at the bottom.

It looks really interesting but the flow breaks in bits sometimes. Next time try inserting enemies(rockets, lasers, gauss guns etc.) something else than mines ;)

The end is the hardest part. Take a look at the advice I gave to uNcoNditioNal. You'll be able to pull it off after a little practising. :j

I just loved the tileset, and the flow is pretty cool.
More enemies could have been added, but it's good like that.

but in this case, it's pretty embarassing, because cheatablity could have been prevented with a few locked doors.

And anyway...
When using the cheat route, you don't get all gold, which decreases your remaining time after completing a map. And that is another factor besides the number of frames.

ABout the speed runs its not "your mistake". Only morons dislike maps because they can cheat them, finding the quickest route just adds another layer to the map

And by the way, in the end of your demo, you don't have to stop to get the upper right gold, you can just make a jump from the tip of the "3" tile next to them. Works for me, if you time the jump right. That's propably the most challenging part of this level.

Eh, it's not designed to work like that, but that's my mistake. 50 times of playtesting apparently still isn't enough... :P

Just that's the kind of feedback I need to become a better author! A rating of 3.5 for a race map is an excellent achievement for me, because usually my races turn out to be worth of something around 1-2/5.

Looks cool

gameplay is very good, the flow is nice although it could be improved in some places. I think enemies can be quite good in races to give you a sense of urgency and speed but this did okay without them.
I'll give this a 3.5.
