For a first map. I suggest you to look around at the top rated, and also the other maps by the people in the top rated.
You can't start like a pro, I know.
I mean, look at my first maps! I wasn't always good either.
So keep on training and remember that maps are supposed to be for people's enjoyment. So think what would be fun or original. And take time to make the tilesets, It's a big factor of the map, remember that.
