I think your right, personally I like hiding things behind gold, but it wasn't my original idea, this was my first try at making "terrain" and it was to short. I did notice the clustering in the map tutorial. I've started on something else but this time I'm going to give it more planning...

I liked your first one better. This one is more... 'noobish' if you know what I mean. It doesn't have a real theme or any real interesting gameplay. Sorry.
