That's not quite the way I had intended it to work: I originally had the columns of mines complete tight, but then removed a couple just to reduce the number of objects.

But after I saw your way, I beat it on my first try :), so I guess I'll leave it like this and not removing that path from possibility. However, I added gold to the top, since I'm pretty sure its possible to beat it by entering through the top too. I just haven't managed to pull it off yet. Something like the following, except landing on the corner without dying ;).
