Description I still need feedback!!! What's wrong with this one? I'm making a checklist that includes:


  • Tileset Theme-Yes
  • Airtime-Yes
  • Different Use Of Jumps-Kinda
  • Other


What else do I have to add to it? Is the enemy placement bad? Is there not enough close calls? FEEDBACK!!!!

races with long jumps are hard to make. anyways, what matters is not how long you spend on your races, it's how many times you personally play/test them.

"spend more time on your races" thing. i think you spend a just fine amount of time on your races. i think it's just a matter of perfecting your technique as a racemaker.
add this to your checklist: shorter races (at least temporarily) that focus entirely on innovative, buttery flow.

personally

i hate it when races start with the ninja inside an object to fire him away, and then almost immediately you have to jump to avoid dying. (also you could have angled the firing to the left a bit to make the corner A LOT smoother)

I spend at least

An hour on each of these. Honestly, I just play N much more than I should.

gold placement

is kinda weird and messy, try deleting the ones that are partially in the tiles. 4/5, and also try to mix the enemies up a little, and I don't know why everyone is telling you to slow down on making maps, they don't even know how much time you spend making maps, you could be spending all day on these maps, just go at your own pace.

I get it. Now could everyone please stop telling me to slow down. I'll stop.
Anyway some of the stuff was pretty cool but was not executed that well. Also I do not like repeated loops nor do I like average mostly tileset flow. I like spicy surprising flow using bounceblocks and thwumps. Makes it way more fun.

And work on your maps more. You have double the ammount of maps I have and you have probably been here half as long.

At least I'm getting somewhat better at making maps, especially races. SO I guess I should add to the checklist:

  • Change up enemies
  • Spice up the flow a bit
  • Work longer on my maps

two ideas that helped me alot.
firstly, do a collab with da_man894. this time, both of you do the flow. do it section at a time. it will help you.
secondly, do short races, but focus on having innovative and perfect flow. don't mind the length - focus entirely on flow.
also, this map is a big step forward for you. major improvements here. good job. i can tell you've heeded the suggestions. remember my suggestions on Wumbla's Wheels Unturned? if you need more suggestions, just look there. (unless you already have)

but I have a few ideas for improvements, they can basically all be seen by watching my demo.
1. the sideways oneway in the very beginning often slows you down :(
2. when I first played it I didn't jump at the bounce block I just fell backwards to the left. maybe have all 4 one ways to seal off the gap and prevent this problem.
3. too much gold in the bottom left, if I go too fast (like I did) I skip a gold
4. the top right loop, with the two four blocks in the Topright and topleft corners, isn't too flowy (see the demo for this one too) unless you kinda break the flow to gather extra speed you don't reach the corner, maybe a slope would be better than the curvy block, like a 6a in the top right corner and a 2a right below it
5. The doors around the rocket in the middle right are weird, I sometimes hit them and they disrupt my fall, and also when running into that little chamber there is one empty space where you stumble. they could be doors which open when you get there, or they could just be open

5 for encouragement, this is definitely a breath of fresh air from you (the other maps weren't bad, just kinda...stale?), so keep at it :D

you need to spend more time on your maps, you tend to crack them out at an unhealthy speed. I know it's cliché, but go for quality not quantity.
