Description | In the year 6045, scientists on the Earth discovered that after the recent reversal of the Earth's magnetic field, it was becoming stronger, much stronger than before. Due to this, they said, a recently discovered and very large lode of Nuclarium (an element discovered in the year 5603) along the Earth's axis would detonate and blast the earth into many pieces. After this discovery, many of the world's governments began to hoard their spacecraft in order to escape with as many of their own friends as possible.
When the governments began to do this, many smaller factions, most led by dictators, began to emerge and raid the government's storehouses, trying to steal spacecraft for their own escape. These factions became known as the Rogue States, and there were too many of them to crush them all in time. By the time the Earth finally exploded, four Orbital Laser Bases had been erected by the North Hemispheric Union. However, all four fell into the hands of the Rogue States. Afterwards, those Laser Bases were used by the Rogue States to prevent anyone not of their State from entering or leaving the vicinity. The other survivors from the Rogue States who did not control any Laser Bases armed their Missile Launchers, to bully the controllers into letting their citizens past, and also to kill trespassers. Given the obvious danger of the area, the Ninja was trying to escape. Unfortunately, he was not aligned with any one of the Rogue States, so he didn't have any way to pass the borders. So, he researched other methods of escape, until he discovered an interesting fact: There was a capsule amid the remains to the Earth which contained a wormhole to a world with a similar climate, which was hospitable to humans. Unfortunately, it was locked, and the keys had been scattered throughout the world to keep the wormhole 'safe'. Armed with this knowledge, the Ninja donned a space-ninja suit went in search of the keys. Unfortunately for him, all of the Rogue States thought he was trying to trespass upon their 'territory' (some of which intersected anyway) and also they wanted as many of the keys for themselves as possible, even though only the Ninja knew what the were good for. Thus, he was opposed in his quest by the remainder of humanity... but he could still succeed. ---------- This is an entry for Neditor Contest Number 5.
