Description My map for the floorguard gym.

edit: I lost. ;;_;

This map was featured on 2009-05-24

As if blown in by a wind from Egypt, Shadow of Khafre provides a minimal, expansive, and angular aesthetic reminiscent of the Great Pyramids themselves. This exotic texture combined with explorative and freeform gameplay that doesn’t contain a single awkward spot leads one unforgettable map. Although sparse and simple, this level surely provides plenty of enjoyment. — skyline356

I love it.

Decent demo.

Good map.
4.

*sigh*

Yes, it does deserve a feature because a reviewer decided to feature it. That is the only requirement for a map to be featured.

Honnestly?

This map does not deserve a feature. l_d has much better to offer.

No.

Actually, yes, I agree with Origami_Alligator.
It\'s just a map.
Demo Data

I don't know.

It's just a map. I didn't really enjoy it so much, though I think I can see why Skyline did.

Sure, there's lots of routes, but there's only 1 route that's competitively fast. I think of the description "lots of routes" as reserved for maps where those routes are all competitively fast.
you get none of the gold, we get all. And also, look a few posts down - Kool-aid has in fact beaten your speedrun by ~100 frames....
Look before you post.

uhh

Demo Data

Meh..

L_d has done MUCH better.

Mostly boring demo.

But check out my move on top of the big upside-down pyramid.

What more could you want?
An AGD you say? Here it is.

PNI,

what does having a "featured lord_day map" have to do with anything?
Come on. A 3? For a featured lord_day map?

um what?

it has way more than one route. it's one of the most open-ended maps I've played actually. O_o

hmm.

It's neat

Looks stylish, plays well. The only thing I don't really like about it is it only has 1 route, and if you wanna be fast you have to do a corner jump. Other than that, it was fun. 3.5^

It would have been a lot less fun if there wasn't some decent competition, so this map being featured increases its value at least twofold. Otherwise it's pretty boring tbh, far too easy and short.
Demo Data

Naw just kidding

Its beautiful

Really?

Honestly, when I saw L_D submit this for NNRPG I thought it would lose because, although it was relaxed, it was just kind of boring. There wasn't anything special about the tiles, and the gameplay was everything we have seen before but alot less of it.

At first I thought this was a satirical joke review.

I guess people just like triangles..... with "texture" (aka solid fill <_<)

First try AGD

Will be back with speedrun.

Faster all gold

My only problem with this Feature is that I didn't make it.
Just because popular mappers get featured doesn't mean they get featured because they are popular. Maybe they are popular because they craft good maps (like this example). I mean I'm a pretty well established mapper (or was) and I only have 1 feature.

I'll agree with mintnut, this map has oodles of featurocity, just oozing from the tops of those pyramids like lava juice.
I loved the physics of the tileset, and the gold placement was pretty neat. It had flow.
But it was too short for my liking ;_;

skyline:

First of all, congrats on the review.
Second of all, if I had made this map, it would have been ignored.
Why? Because lord_day is an established mapmaker.
I've noticed that established mapmakers tend to get featured more that up and coming ones. It's a fact of NUMA.

2.5 rounded down

Good aesthetics, but lacks substance.

To all:

Why are you making the claim that if this map had been made by anyone else, it would not have been appreciated? Surely you don't think that if this map didn't have lord_day's name on it that I wouldn't have enjoyed it at all. I'm sure that the author does have some effect on how well a map is received, but are you really brainless enough to think that just because you don't like a map, nobody else can? And how am I not even doing my job? I wrote a (rather good) review about a map that I enjoyed immensely. And of course, here we have it again: your opinion is not necessarily the one that everyone has. I don't mind people saying that they don't like the map, but why would anyone be so moronic to say that I'm not even doing my job correctly?
I liked how freeform it was. I didn't find the fun in high scoring or enemy dodging, but it was fun to uncover all of the various routes.

That said, I could probably find better maps which showcase this. Still, nice review anyways.

I'm sorry

nico and TRT, but everything you said was complete bullshit.
I, for one, would not have criticised this if it was a first map, but praised it as much as I have here. Skyline is doing his job as a reviewer, i.e. choosing to review a map that he, and many other people, like; he is the reviewer, not you. It's his choice, not yours. If you don't like the map, fine, but don't then say that he hasn't done his job properly.

answer

make interesting maps.

Question..

How do you get ur maps featured? ^^

I like it.

Somehow I can't get enough of it.

Shut up, noobs.

Being easy does not make a map bad.
