i did like elements.
Check out my latest map if you want. The mine-beds I like are still there, and I've continued experimenting with bounceblocks, but it's a pretty different map. It'd be interesting to see your opinion on it.Link [nmaps.net]

Didn't like this one either
It just, well you summed it up well. Not cohesive at all, and getting the gold was a complete nuisance at times. Then again, it's the only thing the map has going for it. Nice TS, but that's it.
I'd skip over this motif if I were you; the tiles really dont suit much gameplay that doesnt sidestep them, which makes them really pointless.

The tiles are fantabulous,
but some strange people may consider the tile-people like little men with penisses on their head. I, however, won't.

I don't think it's as cohesive as it could be, it was more an experimentation in form. I like elements (the instant drop, and the exit glitch, and the tiles), but I'll keep trying.

and the previous four play completely separately to each other. the only thing that's familiar to my maps here is the
laser/door combo, but it just works for the map rather than being an idea I fell back on.
