Map Data

Description Just had to share this one. For the first time in a while, I forgot about the little compulsive mapmaking habits I've gathered over the past year or so, and the result is vintage Pheidippides.

They were stupid little rules, like "objects have to go in the center of a tile (with a few exceptions)," "thwumps have to strike perfectly flat surfaces," "drones should only follow relatively blocky surfaces," "all-gold should have a relatively smooth route," and such. They made maps look more organized, and perhaps more polished, but I'm not sure this outweighed the strictness of the limitations.

In short, I turned mapmaking into a science. So here's a step back towards art. Enjoy, guys.

I do a lot of the same things when I make maps.

and those drones were good, but in some cases I felt like a gauss would have been smoother than a rocket. the thwumps got annoying, and I think leaving the right side accessible would have made the bottom gold easier.

I agree with capnshazmo.

5aved.
great description.

atleast one of your rules (I'm guilty to this one when i first started) was symmetry. o god

extremely fun

extremely difficult too.... finally got all gold.

Cool.

But I didn't like the double-teaming rockets. Got too intense at times. AGD was a nice difficulty for the most part.

Tiles like a funky totem pole or some thaaang.
Although I think they've improved my mapping. I like my recent maps a lot more than my old ones. But you're right, I try not to become a slave to those rules either. Keeping that balance is the challenge.

I do too!

I love how the rocket can fly through the big centerpiece thing and the big open areas with the bounceblocks. Very fun :D
