I really don't feel like doing this right now, but here it is anyway. Sorry for the lateness and my current unenthusiasm.

The Daily Rundown
August 19th to August 25th

August 19th

I must admit, I really do like this map. Although I don't know why I would be hesitant about saying that in the first place. Back off, fucker.

August 20th

Gorgeous.

I once knew a girl named Midori. She wasn't very intelligent, but she had really large breasts for her age. I think a lot of dudes idolised her, back in the day. She was that girl who all the parents would say was really pretty, but most of my peers never really got that, me included, because she was a dumb shit with big tits.

August 22th

He really did fuck around with this map. I thought it was fantastic.

August 23th

Great collaboration. Tight.

August 24th

I think logic runs in the family.

August 25th

Very groovy.

I think this is the best I've ever seen this concept done. However heat waves, such as having my heater on full bore over night sort of gave me a leg cramp last night. That was really no fun. I don't blame this map, though.

Greatest mapmaker (of all time?), thecalcgenius!

First of all, congratulations to NUMA on the 100,000 map milestone.

The Post-Modern Nuzzle: This map was, at first, going to be like nothing you saw here. My original plan for this map was to have distinct top and bottom portions, where the bottom portion contained two gauss turrets and a rocket placed in a flat isosceles triangle and had gold pieces lined up in a symmetrical Fibonacci sequence about 2-4 x-snaps away from each other. That whole group of enemies/gold was to be shifted three tiles to the right. On the far right side, there was to be a hole where the exit switch lay (you could only pass through it down, and exit the hole through the left), and the exit was to be one tile length to the left of a statue of Kablizzy and his brand new 3-D printer (complete with Kapenis replica!)--

But I digress.

Anyways, stuff happened, I used my differential equations skills to calculate the awesomeness of said nuzzle map, rotated random crap by 45 degrees for good measure, and then I submitted it. Unfortunately, I had forgotten that the only way to become a decent mapmaker was to post something semi-n00bish first, and then improve on it later on. sadly id already submitted it and it had been both sized n commented by blizzy so what could i do? i couldnt delete that map without making fans angry and sometihng liek that. so i sed hey im gonna be on teh sunday n so i should just become relly noobish and then i could become better later and then ppl would liek me and then id be famous and then keron would bow down to me 4ever. so anyways i taught that was pure genius and then i said i think im gonna do that. so here goes guys, hope u liek it

Random Rates

This week we have DW40. Check it.

Black Dog Serenade by Infinitum and Yahoozy

4/5
This is a fun map. The two similar styles of Infinitum and Yahoozy have made this an interesting and fun experiance to play. The tileset, although being ragged and rough (in the way that Yahoozy's maps are), it provides great flow throught the map. The gold is placed neatly but doesn't follow a particular pattern which is nice.

Pros:
-Excellent flow
-Nice gold placement
-Fun experience

Cons:
-The rocket can prove to be annoying
-Mines which do not add to gameplay

UFO-Tofu by holy_trinity

At first glance you can tell this isn't going to be great. The tileset is ugly and the gold is all over the place. A good idea which is implemented in this map is that you have to take a tunnel in line with a rocket. To do this you must first find a trap door but unfortunately you have to do it for all four sides and the thwumps make this extremely annoying.

Pros:
-Interesting idea (but definately a widely used one)
-Drones add a good challenge

Cons:
-Ugly tileset
-Crap gold placement
-Extremely cluttered
-Ugh

Prison Escape PT4 by rebelzx

0.5/5
Oh, god no. Randomly scattered E tiles and 7 tiles. Random gold. Over 30 drones, many of which do nothing. There are a few locked doors but what's the point if you get them as soon as you start? Most of the drones are set to circle around in mid air. This is horrible.

Pros:
-rebelzx at least put a ninja in.

Cons:
-Horrible tileset
-No doubt this will lag on slower computers
-Over 30 drones
-Hidden trap doors
-Pointless locked doors
-Many surfaceflow drones in mid-air. I could go on

This map has Tumenydooorz(TMD) Syndrome. This means that you don't have to get every switch to win. This map also clumps object a bit much. I strongly dislike the use of launchpads in this map. Launchpads have been placed in a perfectly wall-jumpable area which cause you to lose control over where you are going. I do however like the use of floorchasers in the top area.

Pros:
-Nice use of floorchasers
-Fairly good looking tileset
-Fun mine jumper sections

Cons:
-TMD and clumping
-Badly placed mines
-Out of the 11 doors only one is needed for an all gold completion
-Bad use of launchpads

Random tiles do not make for a good level. This would be a 3 or 3.5 level if there was some pattern to it but it all seems a bit off. The gold has been placed at different patterns and the enemies are illogically placed which makes this map off-balanced somehow. I did however really enjoy playing it. It is a very fun map if you get it right.

Pros:
-Fun
-An exciting challenge

Cons:
-Not playtested enough
-Zap drone paths need to be spread out more
-Random tiles

That's it. Thanks for the one great map: Black Dog Serenade by Infinitum and Yahoozy

I'm going to keep that trend going. First person to comment gets to email me about doing Random Rates. I'll make that a tradition.
